Your no corkage drinks are served straight after your ceremony at your drinks reception.
The drinks reception normally lasts around an hour and a half and it's your chance to relax and mingle with your guests whilst enjoying a celebratory drink of your choosing.
Depending on your individual wedding day timings, you might also like to spoil guests with a delicious canape or two. These delectable morsels will stave off their hunger without ruining anyone's appetite for the wedding breakfast meal.
Capture The Moment
Your drinks reception is also the perfect time for you and your wedding photographer to capture some stunning images of your wedding day.
We welcome (biodegradable) confetti at The Ashes Barns and this is the time to throw it! Your photographer might also suggest a little time away from your guests during the drinks reception to capture some beautiful shots of just the two of you.
If you're planning a cosy winter wedding, we'll serve your delicious winter drinks inside our stunning oak framed rustic barn.
Entertain Your Guests
It's likely that your wedding guest list will feature an eclectic mix of two beautiful families, old friends, new friends and work colleagues; a little bit of entertainment during your drinks reception is a great ice breaker and gets everyone in the mood for a great day!

Four Legged Friends
The Ashes Barns is a countryside wedding venue set in 50 acres private land. We've got our own Highland Cows who are quite partial to photobombing! We can't always promise they'll be available for your drinks reception photos but if they're in one of the fields closer to the barns you should be able to capture a picture or two with them in shot.
Your family pet is welcome to visit for a short time during the drinks reception but they must remain outside at all times and must be returned home after their photoshoot please.
If you hire an external supplier to bring more exotic animals onsite, the supplier must stay and supervise the animals at all times.
