Rustic Barn Wedding Venue
The Ashes Barns
Inspiring Countryside Setting
As barn wedding venues go you can’t get more picturesque than The Ashes. The fifty acre estate rests at the foothills of the Peak District National Park, within the borders of Staffordshire in the West Midlands.
Amble up the mile long, tree-lined, private driveway through golden fields of corn and lush grassland, over a 17th century stone bridge and you begin to appreciate the charm of this stunning countryside wedding venue.
From lush lawns with verdant borders, the idyllic pond and lustrous lake, apple orchard and bramble hedges to wilder things…wheat fields, bubbling brooks and starlit vistas, youʼll be overwhelmed by the variety of magical spaces within the grounds.
The Grade II* Listed Country House with its formal lawns and landscaped borders; rustic stone barns and Coach House also act as stunning backdrops for your wedding photographs.
Getting Ready on Your Wedding Day
Tying The Knot
Choosing historic barn wedding venues certainly adds a touch of magic to your ceremony. The West Barn is the oldest structure at The Ashes; a 17th century Grade II* Listed rustic barn with all the warmth and charm you’d want for the setting of your lifelong promises to each other.
Licensed for civil ceremonies and comfortably seating up to a 150 guests, The West Barn features a fantastic aisle, original mullioned windows, a Juliet Balcony for your musicians and stunning exposed oak beams.
Eat, Drink and Be Merry
Your drinks reception is the perfect time for you and your wedding photographer to capture some stunning images of your wedding day.
We welcome (biodegradable) confetti at The Ashes Barns and this is the time to throw it! Your photographer might also suggest a little time away from your guests during the drinks reception to capture some beautiful shots of just the two of you.
If you're planning a cosy winter wedding, we'll serve your delicious winter drinks inside our stunning oak framed rustic barn.
The East Barn
Held in The East Barn, your wedding breakfast is a celebratory feast of your choosing, enjoyed in the mesmerising setting of this stunning Grade II* Listed wedding barn which features warm natural stone, a polished oak floor and original timber beams.
We'll set out the perfect number of chairs and tables; you decide if you'd like a straight or a round top table for your first meal as a married couple!
