August Wedding
Clare and Dominic's summer wedding.
Let the Wedding Planning begin...
Clare and Dominic tied the knot at The Ashes Barns on August 10th 2018 with a beautiful summer wedding. Here is what the couple have to say about keeping to traditions on their big day.
The proposal was a complete surprise to me! It took place in our favourite city, New York, on the Brooklyn bridge.
When we arrived home, The Ashes Barns was the first venue we visited, and we fell in love from the first moment. We had not seen anywhere like this before and we wanted something special but somewhere that still made us feel relaxed. It's such a beautiful venue and all the staff were so friendly and always there to help.
Keeping to Traditions
We went for a relaxed day for our August wedding and our styling was lots of bunting, candles and fresh flowers with lots of photos of us, and our special places. We also incorporated Scottish traditions and Yorkshire ones also.
Dominic is from Scotland and I am from Yorkshire we wanted to try and combine them for the day. Our wedding favours were Iron Bru and Yorkshire tea with biscuits and chocolates coming from both places.
Stunning Flowers
We used The Ashes Barns dream team florist The Topiary Tree Florist for our flowers! They are such amazing ladies.
I loved my wedding flowers, we went for the Scottish thistle, loosely tied with pastel colours.
Dressed to Impress
The Groom and Groomsmen went traditional Scottish with the kilts, and most of the guest said everyone looked amazing!
I got my dress from a small little bridal shop in Holmfirth called Dotty Bridal - I hadn’t seen anything like this before and just fell in love it with it.
The Bridesmaids dresses were all from Chi Chi London. The girls all looked stunning in the light grey floor length dresses.
Supplier Shout Outs
Rebecca (Yu Photography) was amazing. She made us feel so comfortable and at ease throughout the day, and took brilliant photos.
