It’s so easy to get carried away when planning your wedding; it’s nice to know you don’t have to go bananas to pull off the perfect, elegant, simple yet beautiful, minimalist wedding at The Ashes.
Here’s our top tips on keeping your décor simple yet effective whilst making the most of all this incredible barn wedding venue has to offer.
Less is More at this Picture Perfect Venue
This picture perfect barn wedding venue oozes history and character.
The warm tones of the exposed stone walls and incredible oak timbers high in the roofs of both Grade II Listed rustic barns, make the perfect backdrop for a couple of statement pieces which can start the day in the Ceremony Barn before being moved into the Wedding Breakfast Barn during the drinks reception, ready to wow your guests again as they take their seats for the meal and speeches.
Twice The Impact
You’ll get twice the impact from one set of decorations, saving you money and fuss.
Our Event Managers move anything you’ve placed in the windowsills of the Ceremony Barn into the windowsills of the Wedding Breakfast Barn and any statement pieces you hung behind the ceremony table will be carefully hung behind your Top Table.
Line of Sight
There are loads of wrought iron rustic hooks placed both inside and outside The Ashes Barns which are perfect for hanging bunting, wickers hearts, paper pompoms or whatever else takes your fancy. I love a bit of bunting, it’s frivolous and fun, it plays in the breeze, looks great in photos and gets noticed as it’s perfectly placed in your guests’ line of sight.
The windowsills at The Ashes are all unique and the simplest of decorations look fantastic framed within them. Sonia and Tom chose a simple flower arrangement presented in a recycled jam jar, it looked wonderful!
Elegant Dining
The Ashes exclusive caterers do a fabulous job of making your wedding breakfast dining tables look stunning even before you’ve placed any personal touches.
They provide crisp white linens, sparkling glassware, elegant cutlery and gleaming white crockery. Once they’ve carefully placed each setting, all that’s left for you to do is supply a centerpiece, your name place cards and any favours you’re treating guests to.
Rather than one large floral centerpiece perhaps opt for a few small arrangements and a few long-burning tealights scattered around the table; it’s a fantastically simple yet effective alternative.
Your Wedding Event Manager will oversee the placement of all your personal touches and make sure that the venue looks exactly how you imagined it would for your big day. She’ll be onsite bright and early to welcome your florist and any other suppliers setting up on your big day so you can enjoy getting yourself ready.
Minimalist Wedding Ideas
If you’re wondering how to pull off a minimalist wedding at The Ashes, be assured that the simplest of decorations is all you need to make it your own.
We’re here to help; don’t hesitate to get in touch, we’re always eager to share top tips on what works and how you can get the most value from your decorative items.
You’re also welcome to visit The Ashes with any of your suppliers; if your florist would like to be inspired by the venue or any of your bridesmaids want to come and see the place before they start stitching bunting for you, then just give us a call and we’ll make a viewing appointment for you.
