Whatever the Weather

There is one thing you have no control over on your wedding day – Mother Nature! but we’ve got some suggestions on how to make your guests more comfortable and help you feel more relaxed knowing you’ve got your weather bases covered!

Pamper Hamper

Fill a couple of wicker baskets with a few bathroom essentials, guests will love you for it!
You don’t have to load them with designer smellies, supermarket own brand products are fine and make sure you keep a hold of all those free samples you’ll get given during your bridal planning they’re free and they are the perfect size for bathroom baskets.
Why not ask a bridesmaid or a family member who is offering to help, to organise this for you. You can send them a link to this blog and ask them to keep their eye out for items during the planning process.

The list below offers a handy guideline of “just in case” items which may just save the day!
Pamper Hamper Essentials

Beauty and Grooming:

Comb and brush
Lip balm
Hair spray / gel
Spray-on Deodorant (get an aerosol deodorant so guests don’t have to share a roll-on!)
Body spray (see if you can score perfume/cologne samples from department stores)
Hair pins and hair ties
Makeup remover wipes
Sanitary towels/ Tampons (just a couple of each it’s a nightmare if you get caught out!)

Emergency Situations:

Safety pins
Tissues
Sewing kit
Clear nail varnish (for runs in tights!)
Plasters

Other:

Mints (individually wrapped)
Bug spray (summer weddings)
Cough drops (great for winter weddings)

Be Aware!

If you have little ones attending you may not want them getting their hands on scissors, needles or glue! Don’t put any sort of medication (paracetamol/aspirin etc) in the basket. Keep these items out of reach from little hands.

Snuggle Station

Whether you are planning a spring or summer wedding where you might encounter cooler evenings, or an autumnal or winter wedding with the expectation of cold spells, blankets will help keep your guests cosy and warm. Pop them into a basket for guests to grab and snuggle under.

Come Rain or Shine

Bring your wellies with you, just in case you fancy going cross country on a damp day for some lovely countryside photos – you can make a statement with them or your photography can position you so you don’t see them at all!
If needed The Ashes will provide large golf umbrellas which your ushers can use to shelter arriving guests and escort them from their cars to the venue door.
Providing parasols at your wedding can prove a pretty way to keep guest protected from the sun. They are also a unique photo prop that your wedding photographer will love you for!

Kick Off Your Heels

Let’s face it….dressy shoes are never that comfortable, even if they’re truly fabulous!! You will want your friends and family to dance the night always, so make it an invitation they can’t refuse by positioning baskets of flip flops by the dance floor. Investing in a selection of sizes won’t need to cost the earth, especially if you can wait for the end of summer sales.

Awesome Day

Whatever the weather I’m sure you’ll have an absolutely awesome day. Don’t hesitate to get in touch if there’s anything we can do to help make your dreams come true.
