At The Ashes Barns we appreciate that every couple is different, and the thought of a traditional large-scale wedding may fill some couples with dread. We want to remind you that your wedding day is all about you, and your comfort and happiness on the day should be a priority.
Relaxed & Intimate
When it comes to weddings with us, we want you to feel reassured that there is no minimum number of guests to fulfil. If walking into a room of over a hundred people doesn’t appeal to you, then a Micro Wedding might be the perfect solution for you both. Micro weddings are a popular choice with couples who like to keep things more relaxed and intimate. Micro weddings can still involve all the special characteristics and traditions of any wedding day, but just on a much smaller scale.
Nearest & Dearest
Micro Weddings are no less special than larger-scale weddings, in fact, they often can be much more intimate and personal. This wedding type usually has no more than fifty guests, and this is where the term ‘nearest and dearest’ really comes into play.
On such a personal and momentous occasion, it is the perfect opportunity to get together with those who are most special to you. After all, you are paying for these guests to visit such a beautiful place and to entertain them for a day, so you want it to be people who mean something to you and who are attending for the right reasons to celebrate your love.
Relax & Enjoy
We can empathise with the desire for a stress-free, relaxed affair, and with this, we can appreciate the temptation to elope. While this may be the most suitable option for some, the perfect alternative is a Micro Wedding, for those who don’t want to leave their loved ones behind.
Ultimately, the less people there are, the less people there are to please, making the planning process much simpler and allowing you to focus in on what is most important to you.
Whether you want to use the flexibility of a smaller guest list to splash out on indulgent wedding favours to treat your loved ones, or whether you’d prefer to keep things more casual and have guests socialising over some sharing platters as opposed to a more traditional Wedding Breakfast, we will always work with you to recommend things within your personal budget and ensure that we do things however makes you both feel most comfortable. Either way, your Event Manager will be there to coordinate the entire day and take any stress away from you.
Cosy & Intimate
Micro wedding ceremonies are some of the most beautiful and romantic occasions we see here. These intimate events often have such a warm and friendly atmosphere, as there is more opportunity for deeper interaction with guests, often making their attendance feel more appreciated. Although we cater for up to 150 guests at The Ashes Barns, we can also easily adapt things to make it perfect for smaller guest numbers. The cosy and homelike ambiance within our rustic countryside venue only enhances this intimacy.
We will never place more chairs in the ceremony barn than necessary, as multiple empty chairs can look unsightly and be mistaken for unattended guests. With Micro Weddings at The Ashes Barns you are more flexible in your choice of seating arrangements. For example, the popular ‘Arc’ layout in the West Barn is fabulous for smaller ceremonies, where we place the registrar’s table against the longest wall and arc the chairs around it. This is a stunning setup and takes full advantage of all the available space in the beautiful West Barn, giving the illusion that the room is full while giving guests the perfect view of you both from all angles.
Make It Your Own
Following the drinks reception, guests will be led into The East Barn for the Wedding Breakfast and evening festivities. This spectacular barn will captivate your guests from the moment they step inside, with high ceilings featuring exposed oak beams supported by beautifully rustic stone walls. However, don’t let the depth of this room fool you into thinking that it’s only suited to larger weddings. You have the ideal extra space to entertain guests with either live entertainment, or any number of fun activities. The Caterpillar table layout is a brilliant option for Micro Weddings in this beautiful barn, as it brings guests together as part of one long table setup.
Small-scale celebration doesn’t have to mean small-scale fun. As we are an exclusive-use venue, you are free to personalise things as much as you want. You can really get those creative juices flowing and make use of all the extra available space you’ll have at The Ashes Barns.
