Let It Snow
There is magic in the air this time of the year. The run up to Christmas with all its festive cheer, goodwill and tradition makes it a fabulous time of year to get married.
Christmas Weddings at The Ashes Barns are always so beautiful, with or without a smattering of snow but if you're lucky enough to get a white wedding you needn't worry about accessing The Ashes Barns. We've got our own snow plough to clear our private driveway which is straight off a main road which is always regularly gritted at the first sign of any snow.
Festive Decorations
Christmas weddings don't have to be themed around Christmas but if you're going for a December wedding, why fight it! A touch of crimson, a yule log, some pretty twinkly candles and your wedding breakfast tables look jolly magnificent.
The Ashes Barns will have some extra twinkle throughout December and into the New Year as we put up our three incredible Christmas Trees.
We've got one at the front of the ceremony barn, one up on the bar balcony of the wedding breakfast barn and an absolute whopper outside in the flagged courtyard. They're stunning!
'Baby It's cold Outside'
Whatever the weather, it would be a shame not to get outside at The Ashes Barns for a few photographs throughout your wedding day.
During the drinks reception your guests can stay toasty warm inside the rustic stone ceremony barn, enjoying a cup of festive cheer (or two!) while you both nip outside for some winter wonderland images of your incredible day. Lots of our winter brides invest in some white wellington boots so they can make the most of the stunning surroundings without getting wet toes!
Your Wedding Breakfast
We'll always encourage you to select a wedding menu that you'll love, that's 'you' and that complements the season.
Christmas weddings are all about warming winter classics; soups, baked tarts for starter, traditional roast dinners (turkey entirely optional!), bangers and mash, pies & peas; delicious hearty comfort food!
You can get seasonal with your no corkage drinks too and serve mulled wine or a boozy hot chocolate during your drinks reception.
